CPA hopeful, I'm sorry about your score, you're only 6 points away...oh well...at least you know what it's like the next time you sit for it and like others you'll overcome this beast.
I'm studying FAR with Yaeger HomeStudy which includes Wiley book and CD. If you compare Roger's teaching method with other review courses, I believe anybody would tell you that Roger's the liveliest. This is based on the demos that I've watched.
Just check out Yaeger demos, what you see is what you get. I don't think it's boring, I'm usually too busy taking my own notes ;p So far I've done Basic Concepts, Accounting Changes, Error Corrections, Financial Statements, Inventory. And guess what, I haven't called Yaeger yet for questions. This is a surprise to me too as I've been out of college for 10 years and have practically forgotten what I've learned at college. I think that pretty sums up the quality of the program. With the lectures, they do refer to the Wiley book a lot. So in the end, I dont really need to read every page of the book which is great. I'd rather spend more time doing the MCQ.
My question to everybody here, is it ENOUGH to pass the exam without adding something else? Should I include Gleim MCQ CD? Does Gleim MCQ include simulations too?
Your input would be much appreciated. I'm taking FAR on 2/27/09. Gosh...feels like the days are flying by so fast

cpabeez, glad to hear your FAR studying with Yaeger is going well. Based on my first experience taking FAR. I wouldn't take the exam without doing a lot of Gleim mcq and some simulations too. You need to buy them both separate. Maybe someone else has a different opinion. let's see.....

Gleim MCQ (test prep CD) will boost your confidence in the exam. I wouldn't advise to spend money on simulation. Just going over simulations from Wiley book will be more than enough. Gleim MCQ does not include simulations and if you know the concepts, you can answer any simulation question.

Thanks for the advice. I was kinda bummed out and didn't do much studying for BEC. So I decided to reschedule that one and I'll go back to FAR first. It was just hard to realize that I need to go back and do it AGAIN. :)
