Personally, I dont think it is a good idea to mix study material. Especially 3 of them!!! (one of sims, one for mcq, and one for material/lectures). You only need one! |

No doubt. Different candidates have different ways of learning/preparing and therefore it's natural that they would have different preferances when it comes to the choice of Test Prep vendors.
Having said that, one needs to decide what would be the best materials for him/her before committing to making a purchase. This should be done in the initial planning stage. Failure to pick the right materials could potentially lead to unnecessary wastage of time and money. I can see how a primary material (e.g. Wiley Book) could effectively be supplemented by one item from a different vendor (e.g. Gleim CD). But using 3 different materials could lead to redundant, and consequently, inefficient prep sessions.
I think, in general, the problems usually lie with the candidate's own approaches to preparation or just inadequate preparation rather than the material s/he used. After failing AUD, I was tempted to shift to a Wiley book, but I quickly realized that the fact that I was already familiar with Gleim was an advantage, and all I needed to do was to be better prepared using the same materials.
