Thanks Treo. I have to be ready with FAR since it's my first exam with sims. The same thing happened to me with BEC. Questions I never saw before, I was left hanging and just based the answer on my experience.

By the way handsewnquilts, 6-8 weeks review non-stop, without foolin' around, religiously study will take us to pass. I did my BEC roughly 6 weeks mixed with some fun. Now look where it got me.. 65. Good luck.

Hi everyone,

I scheduled myself to study so that I could maybe take my test around the end of July/early August. But like Treo was talking about, I have a similar situation, except I'm waiting for my school to send my transcripts to the BOA so that I can schedule the NTS. So, maybe its a good thing. I believe things happen for a reason. I'm trying to put in at least 2 to 2.5 hrs a night with one day with my family. It doesn't always work out that way because life happens.

I have a question and sorry in advance if I sound ignorant. I read that in the CPA handbook that the passing grade is 75% for all sections; but when I read other posts, there are scores in the 60's and low 70's and are passing scores. Can someone shed some light for me?

Agarcia255 - best of luck to you studying FAR. Stay focused, but don't put too much pressure on yourself. If you need help or just want to compare studying techniques, I'm just a click away.

Good luck.

No, those scores below 75 are not passing scores.  Sorry.

And if you look closer they often have little frowny faces next to them, or other unhappy comments.

The good news is that most people who are serious about passing the exams do so eventually.

Nan,

Thanks for the quick response. Great job by the way on your scores!! If you are looking for jobs in forensic/fraud accounting and don't mind working for the government. (They always have a need for these types of accountants; look into the DCAA (Defense Contracting Audit Agency), the FBI, IRS, the govenment agencies are endless.

Which section was the most challenging for you to study and understand the concepts? I do auditing at work bit its Sarbanes Oxley audits, I haven't done a full financial audit yet.

Nice chatting with you.
