Thank you so much yosefa for sharing the information.

For the other guys if you read what i have written you will understand
why I don't want to take the ethic exam

I'm an international candidtae, and the ethic exam is just a " waste of
time" since I'm not planning to work @ the US

Illinois still offers the option to become a registered rather than licensed CPA, but you still have to take the ethics exam.  I think that's probably true of most states.

apparently it's not a waste of time since most states require it prior to getting the CPA designation and 'wall certificate'

what's so bad about the ethics exam?  it a piece of cake and takes about an hour.

Actually, IL will no longer offer that option after the end of the year.  Existing registered CPAs will be grandfathered in, but no new applicants will be allowed.
