Hetal,

you can send photocopies of all your certificates right from 10th standard till the latest qualification notarized by any notary in india (the ones you can find near any high courts usually). you do not have to send the originals.

you dont need all the standards before 10th. u can just send 10th and every standard after that till ur latest qualification i.e. CA.

Hi Apurva,

Your responses have been very informative and hope you can help me as well.

Going through various websites I realize CPA eligibility is dependent on various US states. I am planning to apply to the sate of Califonia.

I have completed my BA in Economics and then an MBA with a major in Finance (both) from India.

From one of your reply's I understand that you need min 24 credits in fin, accounting, tax etc.

So my question is ,,,,,would I be eligible to take CPA since I dont have a commerce background. How do these 24 credits convert in Indian education scenario

It would really help me to plan if things are clearer. Thanks in advance

PS - I am not looking at CFA right now due to some other constrains

your reply was informative. i am a bcom graduate + chartered accountant. Can i take exams in any of the states? i want to do my exam from Florida. Is there any restriction? Khaleel,

If you intend to practice; then you must register in THAT state where u want to practice in. If you intend to take up a job, it hardly matters as to which state you register under.

Being a Bcom+CA you should be looking at Colorado as it recognises the CA qualification. The exam is uniform across the united states.
