Hi, I am J and I am a big CPA loser. I have been trying to pass this exam for a year without success. These are my scores:
AUD -> 59 BEC -> 73 FAR -> 47, 66 REG -> 65
I am getting very frustrated with this exam. I do understand all the topics, but whenever I start reviewing two chapters I start forgetting the first one. I have forgotten formulas and minor definitions in the exams, which cost me big points. I believe I have a very short-term memory.
I work full-time in one of the Big4 and this year is supposed to be my promotion. However, it is not possible to be promoted unless I pass this exam. There is even a rumor that people get fired, which I will hate at this point.
I have been using Becker to review and I go through all the questions, but not all the simulations. Maybe I am not studying correctly. I feel very dumb after all the studying and failing. Again, am J, and I have decided to join CPAnet.com, and pass the exam this year. I will not give up yet, and I am already scheduled for Audit on January 3rd. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

This was you then, and if you look at my scores, others will see why I want to give up so badly. This is too expensive, too much of an emotional strain and too much of a financial strain. I am losing faith and patience.

I don't think anyone in the history of taking the CPA exams have ever sat as many times as I have.

I think your issue is you're taking too many parts. You've sat for all four parts. I honestly think you should only concentrate on 2 parts first. Then worry about the remaining 2 later on after you pass your first 2 parts. Pick two parts and concentrate on those 2 ONLY. Worry about the others later on.

Determined: I agree 100% with CPA#1. You are trying to pass too many parts in one window. Slow it down. Take one section at the very beginning of a window and one at the very end. Stay with those two until you pass one or both...and then replace a passed section with a new section. Don't give up...just adjust your strategy! Good luck!
