Hello GeorgiaEA

Thanks for the valuable information, it is good to hear
from someone more experienced than me.

How have you been studying? are you doing it on your own
or have you taken courses like Becker or Yeager ?

That is my next research area, I think it would be better
to do it with structure than just doing it on your own, I
have a long gap so I need some teacher to teach me.

Thanks again for your input.

Hello kalP

first of all you have to find and dust off your
certificates, that is what I did, then check with Your
particular State Board of Accountancy for the
requirements for becoming a CPA, then have your
credentials evaluated through recommended agency you will
find all the information on the web site of your state's
board of accountancy generally in FAQ section, and if you
still have questions don't hesitate to call the Board.

When you get evaluation process done then you will know
what to do.
I am in South Carolina.
Goodluck.

I'm also in SC.  I thought the state requirements you listed sounded familiar.  Yaeger is a nice review program.  You get videos to guide you through each lecture.  It doesn't expire and the instructors are very helpful when you contact them with questions.

hi Easton
It is good hear from another Carolinian. so you are a CPA
in the making!
I have not even started still in the process of getting my
evaluation back and in the meantime collecting all the
information I can get.

It is good to hear about Yaeger, I kept hearing about
Becker a lot.
Thanks for your response and Goodluck.

Sorry for the delay in the reply.

For the Special Enrollment Examination (EA), I
prepared via self-studying using Gleim books and test-
prep software.

For parts I-III of the CIA exam, I will also use
Gleim books and test-prep software along with IIA prep
materials.

For the CPA exam, my original intention was to use
Gleim self-study materials; however, I am leaning towards
using Becker if I can get a scholarship. If I don't get
the scholarship, I might use a mixture of Gleim and
Yaegar/Wiley materials. I still have some time to sort
out the final strategy.
