What about Strayer University? Is it in the same category
with Devry, Kaplan and University of Phoenix?

You will always get people on these forums that talk down on online universities such as UofP, Keller, Waldenu or any other for-profit university. If you really want to know about these universities, its best to talk with someone who has attended one of the schools you are interested in.

As far as employers looking down on someone because the of the name of the school on their degree; well, I haven't encounter that and if I did, they sure didn't make it a point in the interview to talk down on my education or to turn me away because the school is not listed as an AACSB affiliate school.

Just because you go to a particular school does not mean you're a better candidate for the job. I've hired no one because of the name of the school they've attended. What matters on a job interview is what you bring to the table and what you have to offer that company. In the end, employers only care about if you are qualified to do the job and rather or not you have the educational level to meet the requirements of the job. Rather you gotten them at a community college or an ivy league still meets the requirement of having a degree in accounting if that's what the job calls for. Any employer who doesn't understand this shouldn't be worth you time.

I received a Master's in Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Mgmt and it has helped me. I received a 17K increase when I finished my degree. I've spoken with recruiters at RHI and they recognized the degree like any other. It is very expensive but it worked well with my schedule as it allowed me to take classes online and on site. I have no complaints and neither does my boss.
