I think people struggle with this because none of the chapters relate to one another and its a wide spectrum of topics (econ and IT don't go well together :). As others mentioned, people underestimate this area and do not put in enough time or effort to study. I used Becker AND supplemented with the Wiley BEC book just to get a new set of questions that I've never seen before to really test my knowledge. Good luck.

IT was hardly tested... lulz... Know the difference
between cold, warm and hot sites and
I think you are good.

As for ECON - if you took and passed entry-level ECON in
college this should be a review

Cost Accounting - What undergraduate program does not
teach this? Again, for accounting majors this should be
review.

The dreaded "COSO FRAMEWORK" - OMG, memorize it and stfu.
It's the most precarious part of the whole exam, spend a
little time on it geez.

I think people fail BEC because most of the material is not
taught in a standard accounting degree program. I was an
Econ major as an undergrad which made most of BEC really
easy for me. I also have a background in IT so some of
that was easy too. I did find the picky IT stuff, like
identify the label in a system diagram, was hard. This
test must be hard to study for without a good background
like I had.

people don't pass BEC because they go in too cocky and
think they can genius-style and pass no problem.

Or they studied 10% the amount of time they should have. I
did Becker self-study... watched the lectures once did
nearly all the m/c once through and did pretty well.

I don't understand how people don't pass BEC. If you study
and go in prepared, and you fail you should probably give
up on the CPA.

I took BEC a couple of days ago. I feel I did ok, but that's what scares me. I hope I'm not too overconfident. The exam was a lot harder than I expected, but since I studied my butt off and prepared for the worst, I felt well-prepared and was able to tackle those challenging questions.

I'm crossing my fingers for a passing grade. I need to pass at least one part on my first attempt, lol.
