My hope for this thread is to help each of us to not feel so alone through this study process.

Currently, I work a full-time demanding, high-stress job. I have a 2-hour round-trip commute to work and back. I'm not in school, have no significant other, and no children.

M thru Th: work 10.5 hrs per day; study 2-3 hrs per day
Fr: off work; study 8 hrs; exercise 30 min
Sa: off work; study 8 hrs; exercise 30 min
Su: off work; study 8 hrs; exercise 30 min

Other than this, I don't do much other than try to keep my house clean, pay my bills, sleep, and on occasion, hang out with a friend. I look forward to holiday weekends so that I can study.

Life sucks right now, and I'm exhausted, lonely, and bored, but I really want to obtain my CPA license, so I'm making the necessary sacrifices.

How about you guys? What do your weeks look like?

its about time
xoxo

Monday-Friday: work 8 hours, get home at 4pm. Cook a quick supper, maybe take a quick "nap" with the husband, study for 2 and a half or 3 hours.  Quick trip to the gym or run/walk around the block with my husband.  Try to get in bed before 10pm.

Saturday: study 3 hours, grocery shopping, then date night!

Sunday: church, study an hour, play time

I absolutely do not like this schedule right now.  I just got married a couple months ago, and I hate coming home from work and studying.  I don't like my job either, and the weekends go by so fast!  I do usually take a day off from studying sometime during the week if i'm really exhausted, or if we go out with friends or something.  I just keep telling myself, it will all be over in November!! (hopefully)

:)

Hi, AN8,

You are almost done! That is so awesome!

Your schedule does seem rough, but you've just got to hang in there for a few more months. It sounds like you are balancing things pretty well as far as making time for your husband, exercise, etc.

Having a spouse would be nice for the moral support, but I would probably need to drag out the study process a bit more in order to be a good mate. Ah well, for now I don't need to worry about that. I'll round up a mate next year. I'm not getting any younger. But unless someone oh-so-wonderful happens to appear in my life before then, this year's all about the CPA exam.

Best of luck on FAR!

full-time job, 2 children ( 1 of them toddler), husband.

work eight hours a day, commute 1.5 hours round trip.

Study:
Weekdays
1 hour or 1.5 depends how much energy I have to get up at 4 or 4: 30 am + 1 hour during lunch
Weekends
4-6 hours in the morning + 1-2 hours during my toddler's nap - mostly closer to 5 hours a day than to 8 hours.

I'm already tired, and still need to go thru 3 exams. Trying to put quality time into the study to get it with the first try - just don't have time or energy for re-studying.

It's about time,
how far along are you in your study? Have you taken any of the sections?
You are studying so much on weekends.

Tired? You better believe it!  Determined...nuff said. I'm using the Wiley CPA Review and I'm scheduled to take FAR 11/29.  I want to pass it this time real bad!!  I took it in May 2010 (didn't study) and got a 46..really ticked me off but there's no reason to be if I didn't study...but, it gave me motivation to go for this Blitzkrieg endeavor.  Because I'm preparing so far in advance I do a daily review/quiz (utilizing the Wiley Software) every morning at 6:00 a.m. of each topic I've covered thus far (1 question/ea) so it doesn't get stale.  I have review sheets posted all over my apartment so I'm running into them in the bathroom, in the kitchen, you name it.  I realize this seems over the top but as I said I want to be done with this.  I average between 20-30 hours of studying/week.  I take notes on everything I've read, each MCQ (from the Wiley book) I get wrong.
