I just realized that the BEC exam section is also adaptive which
probably means that I didn't do very well because all 3 of my testlets
had a majority of very simple theory questions and hardly any
calculations. Argh, the whole time during the exam I was thinking to
myself...wow these questions seem to be much easier than anticipated.
Does anybody know when the scores will be released? Will it follow the
same schedule as last quarter? Will probably be spending the time now
until the day I get my scores re-reviewing notes. :(

Why are you assuming you failed? If you thought that the first testlet was
easy then you must have done well and that the 2nd testlet was more
difficult. However, if you went through the second one with no issues there
is not reason the third one wouldn't be easy for you.
Remember the difficulty of the question is a subjective thing. What I consider
difficult might be easy for you. May I ask where did you see that BEC is
adaptive? I always knew that but a friend of mine insists that it isn't.

Hi CPA 1979,
The MC's were very simple and straight forward. Based on the other
exams I've taken the questions in each testlet would become more
complex and wordier, but I didn't notice it this time when taking BEC.
There were questions that were not even included in Wiley or Becker
review, so I merely had to guess on them.
I read here that BEC is now adaptive since beginning 2011. Didn't
realize it before I took the exam.

I experienced the same thing. All 3 of my testlets were not that difficult and
I didn't get a lot of calculation problems either. I just thought it was because
I prepared using Becker & Wiley and was fairly comfortable with the material.
Now you have me nervous!!

Thx for the link. I did get several calculation questions but overall I thought
the exam was doable. I'm still optimistic and really hoping I passed. Hoping
to find out by early Feb as it is expected. I have to say I was surprised I didn't
get some of the more complex calculation questions like Equivalent units
and such. The calculations I did get involved two steps, which I was told is an
indication of the exam getting more difficult, but in the middle of these were
questions that were one sentence long and the answers were only one word
each. I think these kind of questions are difficult because it whether you
know it or you don't.
