Hi,

I plan to sit for CPA exams on 2010 but I haven't decided it yet in which window. If i buy the materials right now (2009 edition) and sit for CPA exams on 2010, won't the materials be out of the date?

In my thinking, i should use CPA review materials 2010 edition if i wanna sit for CPA exams in 2010. I don't know this kind of thinking is right or not. Even, i also think they won't be much different between 2009 edition and 2010 edition because i don't think publishers will change 100% of their materials every year. But the matters are i hear that it will be a lot changing for CPA exams in 2010 since. That is all the matter.

So, i need suggestion that do i need to wait till the 2010 edition comes out or just use the 2009 edition for preparation for 2010 exams? When will normally the new edition be issued each year? In January or what the other months? Or any other suggestion related to which materials need to be used for exam?

Thank you for your respond. So, if i wanna sit for the exam in 2010, the CPA review materials i should use is 2009-2010 edition. Is that right?

Most good review courses (I won't mention any names *ahem*) will extend you updates to the printed materials even after your course expires so you at least have the most up-to-date information. Keeping this in mind, the AICPA Board of Examiners is usually 6 months behind when it comes to new pronouncements. So when the material changes in January, they don't start testing it until after the June blackout. If you are not planning to sit for the exam until 2010, my professional suggestion for you is to hold off on purchasing materials until closer to your intended exam dates.
