Hello guys,
I live in California and I am thinking about taking the CPA exam soon. I am taking some business classes to fulfill the educational requirements to sit for the exam, and I am not sure whether the following classes I am taking at Irvine Valley College are qualified to count towards the 24 business-related units. Can someone give me any information on this? Thanks a lot!!
Econ 105 Personal Financial Planning (3 units)
Course Description:
Provide coverage of personal financial planning in the areas of introductory concepts (risk, time value of money, interest, prices and markets, price an income elasticity , consumer credit, consumer decisions, insurance, investments (stocks, bonds, mutual funds) and assessing the economic climate.
BUS 14 Legal Environment of Business (3 units)
Course Description:
Focuses on the legal system as it affects the business environment. Introduces the student to the history, sources, and creation of law and its impact on business and society. The student will critically analyze both legal consequences and the law's affect on social and ethical responsibilities. Emphasis is on law as it pertains to the court system, alternative dispute resolution, contracts, torts, product liability, crimes, intellectual property, real and personal property, Internet, agency and employment, business entities, regulation of American business, international business, and protection of the environment.
