Hi Guys,

I am from India and have passed the fourth & final section just last month. I have no clue regarding how to go about the ethics exam. Why does one need to take the same? What are the licencing requirements so that i can officially use the letters CPA. Will taking the ethics exam give me some kind of membership number?

Thanks.

Hey

Okay basically you need to double check with your state if they even require u to give an ethics exam. I knw certain terrorities such as Guam etc dont even need to give an ethics exam.

Secondly, you will need to fill out some forms and fulfill certain experience requirements which needs to be validated by an active licenced CPA inorder for you to get your license. Again, this will depend on the state you have applied from.

You can only use CPA against your name in business cards and email signatures if you are a LICENSED CPA. There is no point getting licensed unless you plan the work in the usa ofcourse.

Hope this helps!

I saw you are based in UAE. Are they still crazy about "must have a CPA degree " ?

How is the economy there for a CPA from US  or CA from UK?

Hey,

I have cleared my last CPA exam in Sep.09 from CO Board and have got the congratulatory letter but no info. abt getting CPA Certificate or ethics exam. On reading website I've got to know abt the credential evaluation etc. Now my question is do we have to get the credentials evaluated again I mean at first I got them evaluated from FACS while registering with CO Board. Why again? There is no change in my qualification except for passing CPA exams??
