I do need some advise, my exam is next Saturday. I have gone thru all the questions, sim, material and everything. However when I am doing progress tests (which I have been doing a lot lately) I get plenty of the answers "wrong" yes I get it wrong.

This is NOT because I do know the subjects. The problem is that I get tricked by words like "current", "half year", "net", "UNamortized" "allowance" "discount" and so on.  WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CORRECT THOSE ISSUES? I am not used to mcq tests because we do not have them in my country at all :( .. I have decided to just keep doing progress test forever until Saturday..

Please share with me ANY TIPS. I do not want to run out of time so  am trying to move quickly with the questions "pretending I am in the test" but I do not want to have them all wrong.

God I am frustrated  :(

utesa,

It's after a long time that I am chatting on FAR :)

You are basically not able to concentrate.... feeling scared !

I was facing the similar issues like you, because I always looked at the timer and felt - oh God, only 1 min left, only 40 sec left in any mcq.... and missed out the key words in a mcq. Then, I asked myself - why I am getting so panicky ! afterall, if I know the subject then I just have to spend only few seconds in reading a mcq properly rather than spending few seconds thinking abt saving the time.

And, it worked.... so, relax.... and then practice the mcqs. FAR is tough, but not tougher than our spirit to clear it !

You know the concepts, so feel confident ! If you are getting fooled by few words in a mcq, it's your time to fool those mcqs.... You still have 2.5 days... make the best use of it. schedule the progress test. it sets the timer automatically. Do the test in a sporty spirit. afterall, you have worked hard for FAR. don't let it play again with your hardwork.

FOCUS IS THE KEY HERE :)

All the best for Saturday!

utesa

i think u are prepare.. u r fine now.. just relax .. i will suggest u one thing for 2 full days stop doing sims ,mqqs progress test ...or anything to test ur mind . just stop doing that .it will hamper ur preparation... i used to do the same ,kept doing mcqs and progress test and had faced same prb, i was also soo frustrated ,tired and always crying ... that i don know anything... than my husband suggested me that .. when u test ur mind too much its get panic and u make misatkes .. and u don want to loose the battle by making silly mistakes????????? RT???

sooo pls close ur laptop for 2 days and just read the chapters and small points . eg R&D, impairement, bond issue ,or anything which feel u have not seen them in soo much of details.. coz they might be imp and u have left them..

PLS  calm down and ALL THE BEST FOR UR EXAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!! u will do good if u are fresh and not tired.

Thank you guys, you are right I should just take it easy and relax.  I feel the preasure here at work also thinking how embarrased would be if I fail for the second time. Which is ridiculus in the first place since I am paying with my own $$ the whole CPA journey.

I will take your advise it is not worth it stress out "in advance" is like prepaying a worthless pain.

good luck to you both! and again thank you.

utesa,
stop judging yourself right now..i remember you were a lil nervous last time as well. don't repeat it. just relax, dont fight it. and its not time to think about what, if and but? i failed REG twice, with 1 or 2 points here and there, i am giving it 3rd time. its not that i was not good at it, may be i panicked. so i have decided that i will show CPA.."who's the boss". i know it can be overwhelming to go over so many topics. but you can do this. don't let anything take away the results that you deserve, this is show time, so bring it!!
