I have registered for the NY CPA however I will be living in France for the
next year. Do I have to travel back to the US to take the exam? I noticed
there are prometric centers in France and would rather take it there. Any
advice? Thanks!

No. State boards do not like the idea of taking the exam overseas, yet. You Do need to travel to US to sit for the exam

You can only take the CPA exam in the 50 states and certain territories, which I believe only include Guam and Puerto Rico. You aren't allowed to take it overseas.

can u take cpa exam in florida for licensue even if u are living in maryland

Yes. YOu just need to be eligible to take exam from florida state board and you go to prometric in MD to take the exam..
