This afternoon I mailed my MA CPA application. I must of check the USPS
Priority envelope 5 times to be sure I didn't forget to include everything.

I'm kind of nervous about the evaluation of my transcripts. I have a
Associates degree in accounting from a community college and
transferred most of the credits to a B.S. in Finance. My transcript shows
the majority of credits transferring from the Associates but not the
specific classes.

On the MA CPA website is states that credits achieved at a 2yr school
only count if they transfer into a 4yr degree. I wonder if the evaluators
will be so specific to want a breakdown of each class that transferred
into the B.S. degree? Any idea?

They will want to see the exact accounting classes that you took.  Send in all transcripts from every college that you went to, even if you took just one class there.

Thanks for your reply Von Kaiser,

I did send all my transcripts. The issue I'm concerned with is that my B.S.
transcript shows that 60 of 80 credits transferred in via my A.S. degree, but
it doesn't evidence which classes applied to the B.S. degree.

If I read correctly it states that the accounting credits from an A.S. only
count toward the sitting requirement if transferred to a B.S. degree.

Do you think they will just assume they transferred without further
documentation?

Just a little venting.......after several weeks of various updates on the NASBA website I received an email stating that I needed verification regarding the exact accounting classes that transferred from my A.S. to B.S. degree. As most of my qualifying accounting courses were completed with a A.S. in accounting.

That's fine and all but it seems to me that a lot of time was wasted as my application had three different status updates on the NASBA website only to be rejected to to something so simple. You would think I would have been rejected at the first status report.

One last thing....I called the school where I rec'd my B.S. and they claim they don't have a detailed record of what classes were credited to my B.S. but only a net sum of the credits accepted. What a nightmare!

Vince,

I fear I might be in the same boat as you. I did some of my accounting courses at a different school from the one I graduated from so I don't know what will happen. I emailed the examination office before applying asking if I needed to send them a transcript from the other school and they said as long as I transferred it I was all set.

What did you end up doing?
