Hi Friends

I think by this time you would have decided to do CPA!!!
If not then you may try to seek information to clarify
your doubts before venturing into a renowned
International Professional Opportunity.

To pursue CPA from India is a challenge and the process
is awesome. Hope most of you agree with me. Becoz, there
is hardly any articles/topics by CPAs who walked through
this phase i.e.., I mean to say Indians who completed CPA
Course, their Success Stories or how to overcome the
difficulties and blah blah blah

In that way, we are not fortunate to see the roadmap
especially from the view point of Asian Subcontinent. As
of now we can expect to foresee a lot of difficulties
only, with no solutions/ alternatives. And I am not even
thinking of getting training at overseas for CPA license
requirements.

Request to CPA Members:
I kindly request Indian CPA’s or partly completed CPA’s
to post their success stories, their journey. You could
be a Mentor and Leader!!!! It could be inspiring and
motivating to people like me.

My Journey till now:
It’s funny to let you know how I decided on two hurdles.
I reaslised that the search I made during these 3 months
is worth deciding what state board to choose and what
review material to buy and when to buy and at what cost?

1. State Board:
Firstly, to choose State Board, I had 3 options in front
of me say California, Delware and Colorado. I have gone
through the eligibility criteria of state boards and
called the boards personally to get guidance. I was
successful in deciding on Colorado and applied for
Colorado State Board with my ICAI qualification, B. Com
and M Com.

Key Information: Most of the Indian Students apply from
the above states so I chose Colorado.

Request to CPA Members:
If you ask me to evaluate state boards on qualification
perspective I can’t. Therefore, I request you all to post
your experience in applying to State Boards

2. Review Course Material:
I happened to be in Pittsburgh US the previous month and
met some of friends from Delware to decide on the review
course material. I zeroed on Becker 2011 Course Material.

Key Information: Most of the Indian Students follow
Becker so I had to choose Becker.

My Current Thought Process:
I decided to do CPA from Colorado State with Becker’s
2011 Review Course Material within 24 months starting Feb
2011. And I want to pursue from India itself (expect for
giving my exams either in US or UAE which obviously I
have not decided yet)

I believe in ‘Synergy’ Story: (If any of you read 7
habits of highly effective people by Stephen R Covey, you
understand what I am talking about)

I am part of small group of professional who started same
coaching classes to Big4’s/ Office articles to work
locations while pursuing CA in India.
