I took REG (my first exam) in October and did not pass. At this point I am kind of floundering. I know I should start studying again to retake it, but between working all day and the holidays going on I am having a hard time focusing. I know the holidays will be over soon but I'm sure I will find something else to break my concentration.
What helps you stay focused on studying?
Thanks for any advice!

Each time we apply for an NTS we have to pay money; if we lose focus and fail, it costs us in terms of money, the lost time, new materials entering the 'syllabus' and so on. It is within our hands to allocate certain number of hours for studies e.g. by getting up earlier or while commuting etc and little by little cover the complete course, taking one paper at a time. Wish you good luck. -=-= B, F 4/11, R 7/11, A 11/11; [NJ]

My motivation comes from knowing that I am capable of passing this exam despite all the circumstances working against me. I am taking a couple of months to get my health back and then I will pass AUD in Feb. Passing this exam is a goal I have set for myself and I will achieve it!!!! I may have failed 14 times but I am not a failure until I quit!!

I know a lot of CPA's and I just think that if they can pass, then I
should be able to as well!

If your problem is losing concentration, try breaking down the HW into categories of 15 question at a time. So if you feel like you're losing concentration, just keep telling yourself.. focus a bit more, when I'm done with 15 questions, I get to take a break, browse the net, make myself a good smoothie (always helps :]), etc. If you don't like your job, do a search every now and then in-between your 15 question breaks on careerbuilder or monster and see how most jobs you'd like to have are either a CPA required or CPA preferred.. this was also a good motivation for me.
From my experience, the key to passing this exam is: PP Patience Practice
Good luck!
