I studying Business Environment & Concepts (BEC) and using Becker's material. I have a question regarding my homework performance. After going through the lectures, I tried couple of my homework parts from  lecture 1 &  lecture 2.
And I am getting only 60% to 70% correct on my 1st attempt with help of open book in few question? Any suggest for me on that? Is it reasonable?

I am planning to sit for an exam in 1st week of April. And just starting with Lec 3. I guess i wont hv time to study Ancillary Material in the lecture. How imp are those? Is it ok if I skip it?

Thanks in advance.

Look, NK, do yourself a favor, don't take it in early
April. You should be putting away AT LEAST a 70% on the
homework Q's. I'm not saying all this to discourage you, on
the contrary, I don't want you to throw money down the
toilet. Study the ancillary material, hammer those
supplemental questions, take the sims and the practice
final exams, and plan to take the exam in late April. Best
of luck to you!

Scoring low at the beginning is not uncommon.  Ancillary material is still important to read, they are just saying its not important enough for them to go over because they want to lecture on the key concepts that repetitively come up on the exam, so that means it doesn't help yourself to blow it off.

The mere fact that your questioning whether you will be able to skip the ancillary material raises a flag that your on a time constraint.  You should consider scheduling your exam to a later time.  However, if you feel you can finish the rest of the material AND get read through the ancillary material, then go for it.

I'd recommend (as well as Becker does, I believe)  at least having a couple weeks before the exam where you do intense practice test taking and reviewing your notes.  during that time your going to be focusing on answering multiple choice questions and simulations, until you can't stand them anymore.  After all, that's what you will ultimately do on the exam.. Best Luck to you........

Thank you so much for suggestions. I really appreciate it. I will for sure so through ancillary material. I will also improve on my homework question and will try to do supplemental question with 100% accuracy.

Regarding my exam scheduling, I am planning early April coz on Aprl 11th Becker's will start with FAR and I wanted to finish my BEC before I start it. Otherwise I'll get totally confused and wont b able to focus on either of the subject.

I am not working so that is motivation to study for 6-8hrs everyday day and schedule the exam in April 1st week. I hope everything works well for me. Fingers Cross!

In your opinion, Becker's Material is sufficient for entire preparation. Nothing is tested beyond what is mentioned in Becker's Material...
