Please forgive me. I am really nervous at his moment. I am hoping someone could give me some suggestions on what I should do in my situation. I took Regulation on November 30th. I got my result but I haven't looked at them yet. I'm preparing for the worst. It is the last section I have to pass. If I didn't pass, I only have until the end of April to pass it before I start losing credit on my other sections.

I used CPAexcel to prepare for everything. I don't feel that it prepared me enough. I failed BEC, AUD and REG the first time I took them and got FAR with a 75. I would like someone to suggest how I should go about preparing for this section. Should I stay with CPAexcel or try something else? I was thinking about using Becker. Does it work as well as they say? At this point, price is not a factor and I will devote however much time is required.

I really only have 2 more chances at this. February and April. I want to use my time as efficiently as possible. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I got a 70.

Liuzzi,

I think the key to passing any part of the CPA exam are two things, 1) How
you as a person learn new material & 2) doing a ton of multiple choice
questions MCQ.

I'm a person who doesn't have the patience to read long boring material
and that is why I find Roger CPA to be great for me. His style of teaching
is great and his videos keep me engaged. Also his books are written by
him and are easy to read. He talks fast and writes sloppy but I over come
this with rewind and stopping.

So figure out what works for you because any recommendations that you
gonna get is from people who might have different learning abilities then
you and as a result that review will not work for you.

Secondly, do a ton of MCQ per section. For me to pass REG I did 1200
MCQ and for AUD 1536 and my plan for BEC is at least 1500. I use Gleim
software, which you can purchase individually for $55, because it has a
study mode where you get feedback immediately once you answer the
question. This helps increase your knowledge about a particular topic and
helps show you how the AICPA asks questions on a particular topic.

My approach is that I start with unit 1. Study it and immediately start
doing MCQ. Then move to Unit 2 and while I'm studying it I continue to do
MCQ on unit 1. This helps keep my knowledge fresh. I continue to do it
that way till I get to the end. At this point I do nothing but MCQ covering
all topics in increments of 25 or 30 MCQ.

Doing the above, by the time you sit for the exam there is no question
you're gonna come across that you haven't seen before. As for sims you
should have acquired enough knowledge to be able to answer them. If not
most reviews do have practice sims in their books. Good luck!!!!

I took Roger and he is OK but I still needed that personal touch that comes from a tutor.  Darius helped me on skype.  With his help I passed Reg and Audit before I lost credit for FAR.

Thanks Mitch,

Most students fail the first time because of poor test taking skills and  limited knowledge of the major important topics.  The simulations are often the point that the overall weakness of the candidate is most transparent.

Good Luck to All!
