I am a citizen and resident of India. I have plans of
applying for job in public accounting firm in US, soon
after getting my CPA membership.

I have little exposure to US Gaap & US Gaas. Since i am
also a Chartered Accountant (India), i have been into
audit field for last 6 years.

I would like to know, what level of US Gaap knowledge is
required to get into an public accounting firm? What is
the success rate to get a job in public accounting firm?
I am asking these, since i don't think that CPA
certificate and membership will assure us of getting a
job.......... Is it not?

i request to suggest, those have idea of all these
issues...... Please

The CPA certificate does not assure you a job. Studying for the CPA Exam may help you out with knowing GAAP, but most entry level accountants probably don't know much about GAAP. Leave that up to the seniors and managers on the job.

Do you have any connections that could help you get a job at a public accounting firm? It may be harder to get a job if you're from outside the country, but you seem to know English well. Just try to establish some sort of connection with a firm.
