I take Peter Olinto's advice....."read through once, what sticks sticks." I think this is the best way to approach it.

I disregard the optional homework reading.

I read everything, even the "homework reading". Read it, even if you just read it once.

Read it once maybe twice but don't spend hours on it because it might show up it might not.
