Hi CPA user

It is not that difficult as it looks. If you have a good GMAT score you will end up getting a scholarship. Also, you are allowed to work on Campus. So that take care of a part of your fees..Also, i am assuming since you are on H-4 you do not pay rent....If you are a CPA,,,you might not be required to take the GMAT...i would look into MST or a MS in finance. Since you are going to have a CPA, i would not bother with a MS in accountancy...Just do some research and you should be fine....what country are you from....do you have 16 years of education...

Hi Newcpa

Some colleges would substitute GMAT for a CPA if you want to do Masters in Accounting or Masters in Taxation....That is what MST stands for...However, you might need an active CPA licence which means that you need some experience...you might have to do some homework on that...

The reason i said dont bother with Masters in accounting is that you already have a CPA...CPA is the most premium designation in acccounting....also you probably have a bachelors in accounting...so you should do something that complements you current education...not soemthing repititive........If you want to work for a regional CPA firm you could do a MST as you would be doing both audits and taxes.....If you might want to go corporate or BIG 4 audits...you might consider a MBA or MS if finance or even economics for that matter if you wanna work on the Wall street...There are a lot of options out there...take your time and decide....

thanks for the info jaan. i have few ques for u

are there any college program for masters related to auditing? i now understand doing MS in ACC wont help me much. MBA and MST are good options for me. i had a talk with a student doing MBA and also giving CPA exams, he said MBA and CPA studies are different. nothing similar in it. so do u think i will be able to cope up with MBA n continue with MBA along with job at a later date ( i m searching for job right now).  between MST and MBA which one will be more helpful. wat r the job prospects for MST and MBA?

thanks again

It all depends on what you wanna do in your life...if you want to work in taxes, you should do MST...On the other hand if you want to do Audits, i would recommend MBA....there is no masters in Auditing.....there is no need for that course....I did my MBA and CPA at the same time....Your CPA will definitely help you in some courses if you do a MBA in Finance or MST...and you can manager MBA with work....MBA is not that big a deal in America.....
