climberguy, $550 for two sections in MA sounds about right. Which sections did you register for?
NASBA issues a new NTS every time you register for exam/s after your initial application, and charges you a reregistration fee (regardless of whether you have sat for that particular exam before or not)... it can get very expensive.

Applied for my second NTS online through NASBA, paid with credit card for my final two parts.  I selected my preferred method of communication as email but haven't received anything from NASBA yet, not even a confirmation or anything...figured I would have got something by now since I paid last Thursday.  Anyone have any experience with this?  Wasn't sure if they would just mail my house with the NTS or what...

They usually get my stuff pretty quick (2-4 business days) via email, call them up to double check.

Got the following response...

Dear CPA Candidate,

I apologize for the delay in delivering your Notice to Schedule.  We are have technical difficulty with some registrations transmitting to the National Candidate Database, which is the system which generates and e-mails the NTS.  We hope to have this issue resolved quickly and we thank you for your patience.

Hope they get it to me soon so I can schedule for May.

Hello,

I am in a difficult situation and I would appreciate your assistance.

I was suppose to take the a section of the CPA exam on May 30, 2009. Once I arrived to the testing center, I was getting ready to check in when the representative at the location indicated that I was on the wrong location. Apparently, I scheduled my examination at the wrong location (with NYS but 3 hours apart). This was an honest mistake.

I reached the Prometric customer service chat representative (chat service is available during the weekend) and they informed me that I had to reach NASBA and obtain a different NTS number.

I emailed NASBA and they basically told me that I was considered a "no show" and had to repay to obtain a new NTS number.

I found this unfair. I made a honest mistake while making the appointment (I am sure due to nerves) and I never used my original NTS. Now they are telling me that I have to go online and pay again for something I did not use on the first place.

I dont know what else to do, so I decided to post my situation here to see what you guys thought. Is there anything else you recommend I do? Have you been on this situation before?

Anything would help...

Thank you,
