So when does someone breaches the AICPA's confidentiality statement on this forum?

The statement applicable to this forum says: "I will NOT divulge the nature and content of any Uniform CPA Examination question or answer under any circumstances."

From this, could a CPA candidate who has recently sat exam just mentioned the topic area, for example, 'got alot of inventory questions', be in breach of the above? Would he, if went a little further, said 'I got several questions on the Gross Margin Method, Dollar-value LIFO, Lower-of-cost-or market', be in breach?

The above scenarios were made-up (disclaimer).

i dont think it is a breach of confidentiality to state which topics were heavily tested on your exam. i dont think this is any different from the AICPA's content specification outline which tells you the percentage of each topic on the exam - it gives you an idea of what to expect but not how you are gonna get it. if you go further than that and divulge what the question asked or how it asked it, you might have a problem.

since the topics are random, what someone tells me he had a lot of doesnt really help me too much or give me an unfair edge. ie. if someone flips a coin and gets a head, that doesnt help me predict what im gonna get.

ionno, thats the way i view it but i might be wrong.

Ummm I wouldnt say too much, You would feel like a retard if you got 74 and blabbed to everyone what was on the SIM's and such. haha! I would laugh at you =P

If you read the 'Before you Post, please read' sticky note on the first page of the FAR forum, it states the following:

Question:

Is it acceptable to disclose the simulation topics that were on your CPA Exam? (e.g statement of cash flows, Schedule XYZ, etc.)

Answer:
No

Question:
Is it acceptable to ask other posters to disclose simulation topics?
(e.g. "What were your sims?" or "thanks for providing your sim topics" or "Can you post more details?")

Answer:
No

So, I'm assuming that the statement "I will not divulge the nature and content.." prohibits mentioning any thing related to what may/may not have been on your exam.

I have been careful to no say anything about specific topics i saw on the test. My comments are usually things like "Similar to the study materials", "Testlet 1 was easy, 2 and 3 were difficult.", "Sims were weird" . I think all these comments are not divulging the nature or content.
