Well, if you look at the two paragraphs above the diagnostic report it tells you that the scale does not represent the proportion of questions answered correctly. They also tell you that it is NOT possible to derive - or even approximate - your totl score from your performance results because the scores and performance results are calculated on different levels.

So it looks like this is another way for them to confuse us even more :)

I read the BS paragraph!  It doesn't take rocket science to figure out how they calculated it.

Well I suppose. They just make it sound like it is impossible to calculate your score from that graph. I've never wasted my time trying it. I just take note of my weak areas.

I hear you on the individual stuff...the return really does calculate most of it for you...it's more knowing the rules for dependents and filing status'...it's a pain to study for!!

It's just annoying!  It's like taking your car through the carwash and then it rains 10 minutes later.  It's just irritating!

I did my yard this morning and not it's time to study.  I drop my kids off at school everything morning, work in the yard for 90 minutes, and then study until 3pm.  I've had my 8 shots of iced latte, and now I'm motivated to get off my a$$ for the day to go study cost accounting.  YIPPEE!  I can go do a bunch of MCQ's and get the 2nd best answer!

Then I pick up my kids from school at 3:15pm, feed them their snack, and do homework with them until 7pm.  After I'm done being aggitated because my son stares out the damn window at school all day, it's time for a couple of glasses of wine, and I get to do the same exact thing all over again tomorrow!  Sounds like fun huh?  Nothing ever changes, except there's a different tv show on at 8pm!

I get up at 5am to study every morning too! It's the only time I can hear myself think!  Life is not so bad....I have a lovely home and a nice looking yard! lol  My backyard is like a rain forest and it takes a lot of work to keep in nice!  I have the lawn guys come once a week, but I am out there every morning trimming and pruning and watering new plants.  I love it!  It keeps me sane!  It puts me in such a better mood when I study cost accounting ARGH!

Passit,i have a fun suggestion...i was looking at the signature and it might be a great idea to change "fail" to "retake" or better still, just leave the dates there.Itis a psychological thing, but every time u see that word,it will make u think of all the previous attempts and even if its for a split sec,its still an unpleasant thing to remember, right?

I really hope u take my suggestion:-)

Okay I went to MSFT word and looked up the synonym for "fail", and "Not Up To Snuff" came up!  You're right...I think this more fitting :-)

Good tip!  Thank you!

Cheers my friend!  Back to another cost MCQ!

There was one guy at our firm who had emailed me his report:

Property Transactions 77 62% 8 12 10        0.10 6%
Individual Taxation 77 86% 12 18 15        0.15 13%
Entity Taxation 78 83% 22 28 25        0.25 21%
85 115 100        1.00 77%
My overall score 71%

He failed.  It seemed that he was curved down.  He is very upset and I don't blame him.  Not sure what to tell you or him other than keep trying.  In my state they don't mail you the score report unless you fail.  I would be eager to see what my said.

I do not understand this grading at all...
