Thank you for your advise, Jaan. I am disappointed at the number. However, I really need big four experience to get my license. I am expecting their phone call today to see what they can come up with.

good luck cpa101. did they ask you to provide your previous salary or did you voluntarily bring it up? I don't think it should impact their offer but maybe they are low balling based on what you are getting now.

I got an offer last night from a Big 4 for audit - i didn't ask the salary since they said the offer letter would come in the next couple days. I haven't given them any of my previous salary details or discussed what I am hoping to get in a new job.

cpa101, I would check how is the unemployment rate in your city? supply and demand stuff...also you could also ask for a bonus to increase your potetial compensation based on your performance...goo luck!

They did ask for a copy of my paystub. I will see what they can come up with today. I would be very happy to receive an offer at 65000, which is still below the market but much closer to the market. I do not think they would do that. I do not want to lose the offer as well. I probably have to accept it. Thank you for your replys.
