So, I would need to finish in Texas where I started? But I could take the exam in a state like Illinois? Then when finished I would be certified in Texas but living in Illinois? Is that correct? Then if I wanted to practice, I would have to apply for reciprocity in Illinois based on the State of Illinois's CPA requirements?

Is that similar to what you experienced, Daisy?

Yes. That is the way I understand it between KS and MO. It may be different between TX and IL. I would call your original state office. Luckily, KS and MO has similar education and experience requirements.

Yes. You would need to finish taking the test under Texas requirements, but can physically take the actual exam in any state. When you're done, you'll then have to apply for reciprocity.

I qualified under MA and took one part of the exam there. I've since moved to NY and have taken the last 3 parts here. When I'm done, i'll be under MA and would have to apply for reciprocity in NY based on NY's requirements.

Retro, the following is copied from the NASBA FAQ website:

May I take the examination outside of my jurisdiction?

Yes. You may schedule your examination at any Prometric site in any of the 54 jurisdictions.

Are there any restrictions on taking the examination outside of my jurisdiction?
There are no restricitions on taking the examination outside of your jurisdiction. We do not anticipate any restrictions. One of the benefits of the computer-based examination is that a testing center outside of the state may be in a city much closer to a candidate then a test center within the state. However, a person may not be a candidate for more than one state at the same time and will not be able to bypass a state's educational or licensing requirements by taking the examination outside of the state in which he or she is seeking to become licensed.

If you need further info, just give them a jingle.
