I have just finished my 150 hours and am planning to take the CPA exam. I currently live in Iowa, but plan to move to Colorado once I have passed the CPA exam.

My questions:
1. Can I apply for Colorado and take the test in Iowa? It seems to me that since it is uniform and Iowa uses the same testing service (Prometric) that I should be able to do this.

2. If I can't do that, can I apply for it for Iowa and take it in Iowa and then still be a CPA in Colorado. I meet all the requirements in both states.

Thanks for any help.

I was in the same situation.  I am living in Montana, but plan to move to Oregon upon completion of the exam.  I contacted the Oregon BOA and applied through them.  So, I am taking the exam in Montana as an Oregon candidate.  I would recommend contacting the Colorado BOA.

You can apply in Colorado and take the test in Iowa or any other state including USVI, Guam and PR.

I am currently registerd to take my CPA test in VA but I may be moving to another state before I complete all steps. Does anyone know what will happen if I pass a part in one state and have to move to another state?
