Anson, I learned last week i didn't pass FAR. I don't really want to spend the $$ for Becker. I've watching the Bick free demos and I really like how Bob M. teaches. I also try Yaeger free demo but they are too short to really know if they are good or not. I'm thinking about getting Bisk DVD to study this time. I'll complement Bisk with Gleim, which i used before. In my opinion, Gleim is the strongest programs of all, but you need to have a really strong background to be able to follow it. O.k.

Though they ARE Expensive...i have passed three exams and am using Becker exclusively.  I have a very regimented study program that i stick to and it has worked for me and i cannot say enough about becker...it works... I'm in banking not in accounting (though in accounting department at bank) but it's been a while since i looked at this stuff (graduated college in 03) so, i have had to basically "reteach" me a lot of this stuff and becker has been spot on...

Very interesting background. We have a lot in common. Except that I"m an old fart. I graduated in 1993, but I have an extensive background in banking, both on the retail and accounting side. I also had to reteach myself as you can imagine, especially FAR. I am now in Non Profit Accounting. Good luck on the remaining parts!

I used Gleim books and MCQs.  Read the books and take notes as you read (which ever ones you use).  Writing things down helps me remember it better than just reading or watching lectures.  Do as many MCQs as you can, they really helped me.

Also read the messages posted on this forum for tips and tricks; there are some good ones out there.

Spend the $60 on the Gleim CD!  I wouldn't buy Becker if I were you!  I think you just need to practice more!  Gleim will help you target into your weak areas and you will know exactly where you are screwing up!
