vivcpa, I agree and disagree with you. It's almost always better to set higher goals and to be optimistic. However, the goals should be realistic not to make you feel as a "loser" because you got an 80 instead of a 98 or even failed.

Bubzeebub, have you applied for any auditing positions? By the way, if you work as an auditor under CPA but for government, would be this experience considered sufficient in NY? Or, do they require public accounting experience only?

I'm not sure.  I'll look into that.  Do you know whether or not a government auditor can still prepare income tax returns for pay?

Bubzeebub192, if you work for IRS, I doubt that. :-) I don't see why anybody else would care. You still have to fill out a special form (because of the possible conflict of interest).
