I think you could get away with 2008 books please you can get the updates off the becker website but you need to check the dvd life.  They are only good for one year!

hello kc..

i saw that you have passed the CPA exam by taking up the Becker review. I am thinking of buying Becker study materials to take up the exam this year. But since i cannot afford to buy them new... i am thinking of buying used books. Can you suggest if 2008 becker books would be sufficient to pass the exam. Or would it be better to go for the 2009 edition.

Thanks

What parts are you studying for?

I just wanted to make my first official post on the "I PASSED" section--because "I PASSED!!"

I never thought I would have this opportunity. I graduated college in 1992. My daughter was a newborn when I started studying, and I still have a full time job. I'm not sure how I passed them all the first time. I'm just really glad I did!

Still somewhat in a daze, and I've gotten my letter from Texas, so I know it's not a dream.

Congrats,,,

also - you can apply for a loan from Sallie Mae for the becker materials, think the total cost for me was $2,855 paid off over 2 years.  Your employer may even reimburse you for the expense.

Congratulations!  I'm just starting out on my journey, but I also graduated many years ago (1995) and have 2 kids (6 & 10) and am working.  I also live in Texas-New Braunfels to be exact.  Where are you located?  Reading your post reminded me that I'm not the only "crazy" one doing this mid-life! LOL
