I don't think that they will. It is only for 3 months and you still have 15 months to pass.

According to my state board of accountancy the only way they will extend the 18 month window is if there is a testing or test center issue (i.e. computer shut down, testing center power went out etc....)  No life related situations will warrant an extension even if it is the death of an immediate family member.

Another silly question about the 18 month rule. I know on our passing paper we receive that there is a specific date the particular section will expire. Lets say that date was 1/15/09. That means that I have to pass the exam by that date 1/15/09, correct? So I can take the last section needed on 1/10/09 and if I pass then I am OK?

That is right... after 01/15/09 you will lose credit for that section. As soon as you pass a section that is the start of your 18 month window.
