My test is tomorrow and I am really scare of the sims... I have been reviewing the material Becker and I feel I know a little bit or everything BUT I am mastering nothing. The botton line is I have read about doing the written part of the sims first and I have also heard about one sim been harder than other.

My question is would not be a good idea if you feel that you will NOT do anything on the simulation because you do NOT know the topic, I mean perhaps give it a try to the written part and guess a little and THEN move quickly to the second one and try your luck...  would not that be better than get stuck in a hard one that it would take you nowhere?

Does it make sense?  if both sim are graded you have some of both!! or perhaps it is not a good idea since you cannot go back ??  :(

I've heard you get marks for proper structure, grammar, syntax of a memo. Even if you are wrong, the very least you can write is to thank the person for their question and rephrase the question in your answer. If you are lucky you might be able to search the research tab for some guidance for your answer in the communication tab.

Time management is important on these exams -- trust me i have been screwed before and many others will tell you the same. Budget no more than 45-50min per m/c testlet. keep your eye on the time and push yourself to stick to that schedule. same goes for the simulations. whatever time you have leftover after doing the MC. divide it by two. and stick to it. if you are running out of time on sim 1, start guessing and move to the sim 2. e.g. if you have 2hrs left after the MC tabs, allocate 60mins per simulation. also don't forget to hit spell check -- you get marks for proper spelling -- the AICPA doesn't want a bunch of dumb ass CPAs writing emails and letters to clients who can't spell -- right? :)

this exam is 5 miles wide and an inch deep -- so you are not alone in your feeling of not having mastered anything.

we need all the marks we can get and failing one section could mean the difference between a pass and a fail.
good luck to us all.

I just took FAR today. My second sim is a lot easier than the first one. But I was afraid of not having enough time to complete the second sim so I enter the second sim with 46 mins left. It turned out that i probably only need 25 mins at most for that sim. I regret leaving the first sim so early.

guess it's a gamble you have to take with these exams. perhaps they did this on purpose... like making sim 1 hard so that some people don't make it to sim 2. you never know what these examiners are trying to do us.

wangeva, you would have felt worst if you get to sim 2 with 25 or less minutes and not be able to perform perfect in something you DO know just because you wasted your precious time in something you do NOT know..... like marbss say it is hard to know.

My exam is tomorrow and if 1st sims is too hard I will "bs" a little in comunication plus some guessing and I will move quickly to the 2nd.

Good luck everyone.
