So Jerry what did you do?  Did you complete all the lectures before doing the homework or did you do the homework after each lecture before going to the next module?

Yaeger is my main review course.  Yaeger goes over hundreds of multiple choice questions in their lectures.  Everything else is a backup.  I use my second monitor to take notes.  When I come across a topic that I did not have in college, like partnerships, I listen to the Bisk Hot Spot on my portable DVD.

I only use one review course at a time.  When I finish with Yaeger, I turn to Becker.  I work all of the homework questions.  Additionally, I work both of their tests after I finish Becker’s lectures.  Of course, I take more notes.

I use Gleim in their Test Mode AFTER I finish with Yaeger and Becker.  I take more notes on any missed multiple choice questions.

Finally, I do the Yaeger Cram, and the Bisk Intensive Review ONLY IF Bob Monette teaches the course.  Two days before going into the exam I review all of my notes.

Jerry,

Do you work for Yaeger? it sounds like you make effort for advertising Yaeger as a best review material for the cpa exam...I doubt about your true purpose for all your response...

I am a salesman.  I sell Yaeger because I believe in Yaeger.  Unfortunately, I do not get any money from Yaeger for saying some good things about his review course.  Additionally, I am also using Becker, Bisk and Gleim.  I also have some good and bad things to say about each of those programs.

It is of no concern to me that you think that I have ulterior motives.  When I was a full-time outside salesman on straight commission, I never counted the retail stores that did not buy from me.  I just counted the store owners who believed in me, my company and my product!

This same mentality will apply when I sell myself as a competent CPA and CFP in a solo practice.  Unfortunately, most CPAs do not have a clue how to sell.  Selling is a valuable skill that you will never learn in college.

1) Watch the lecture and highlight everything that they tell you to. (do not watch the entire lec. at once you will be sick of it).

2) Review the highlights and make some notes of mnemonics and formulas and anything you think you need.

3)THEN go to the mcq's. Do sims on weekends or when you have plenty of time and you are not tired.

Good luck!!
