Is there any deadline for my license application? Can I apply for the license 2 years later? Will my exam credit expire?

Ive actaully called the California state board about this.  It is only required that you pass the exam within a span of 18 month period, after that there is no statute of limitations as when you can apply for your certification.

Id still suggest calling your state board just in case.

It depends on the state. I know FL expires in one year.

Is Florida the only state like this? Or are there others?

Well, Florida is getting ready to change their application deadline next month so what I said before won't apply anymore. I started a thread on the deadline change.

Florida is a one-tier state which means we only have one type of CPA license/certification down here. You can only call yourself a CPA once you are officially licensed/certified.

I'm preparing Florida CPA exams for months now (havn't appiled for the exam though). I just saw a new requirement added to the licensure policy today on

http://www.myflorida.com/dbpr/cpa/licensure.html

indicating that to obtain a new FL license, I need to apply for the license WTHIN one year of receiving the licensure package otherwise all my grades will expire and I have to re-take the exam! To appy the license, I need one year of working experience which I do NOT have rightnow.

So this bad news now leaves me couple of workarounds:

1. take other state's exam, like GA.... this option will delay my progress by at least two months... (re-apply, transcript re-sent, etc, etc,)

2. go ahead with FL's exam but have to leave one section untaken until I find a job (assuming the 18-month window works)

3. Any.... other options??

Thanks!

Hi,

I passed all the 4 exams in Mar 08 from Colorado, and has not yet applied for the license. Does the credits expire? How do i keep my credits intact and not apply for license.
