hey torgo,
i don't know whether i i kicked FAR or other way round, will see. what you said is not incorrect. i just had another view on the sims. honestly i was not a big fan of sims as well, until i gave FAR.Topics like pensions/bonds/leases/deferred taxes, were giving me hard time, until i practice those sims, and i started to get the idea about the concepts. i haven't studied here in USA, so i was having trouble with lots of topics that i had not seen before. thats just what i feel, its still up-to you auditor78. good luck everyone.

That is an excellent point that I never thought of.  This is why I love this forum, you get to see all kinds of perspectives on how to tackle this beast.

auditor78, I did something similar to what Torgo did.......didn't practice sims much until the last week of review for FAR and that's when I went through each one in Becker to REVIEW to see where my weak areas were.  Once I knew where my weak areas were, I went back to the MCQ's related to that topic and drilled them over and over over again.  Financial was my first part so I probably went a little over board but as you can see by my score, with all of this studying I STILL ONLY BARELY PASSED!  So I don't think it would hurt to do them but just keep in mind that nine times out of ten, you won't see a simulation even remotely close to what the test has.

Good luck!!!

I agree about the importance of doing sims. When I was studying for FAR from Feb-April, I did each sim during the week I did that chapter. Then during my final review weeks I did the sim on the day I did that chapter's MC. For the communications I probably only did them the first time, but thought about the question for a few minutes on the second go around.

I definitely think it was a good way to practice certain areas. For example the Consolidation sim definitely helped clarify CARIMAG and eliminating interco transactions. Even if you don't get a sim on one of those topics from Becker's sims, they will still help you with understanding the overall concepts and hopefully doing better on the MC. Plus familiarity with sims will help you on your exam's.
