Hi everyone,

I passed all 4 parts of the examination under the NJ board in Jan 2006 but due to some personal committments could not complete my work experience requirement until now.

I am now getting the paperwork ready to apply for the license. I have a few questions though:-

Before taking the CPA parts I had my credentials evaluated by the ECE.org (since I graduated in India) and had sent NASBA copy as well. I don’t remember very clearly but I do remember they had to look at that evaluation before letting me take the exams.. Now at the time of licensing application do I need to send them my evaluation from ECE?

What is the work requirement for NJ? I currently reside in NC and have completed more than 1 year in private accounting under the direct supervision of a CPA. Will this work?

I would like to find a checklist of items I need to include in my licensing application package for NJ but can’t seem to find one anywhere…any suggestions?

Thanks!

1. If credentials were evaluated by ECE and the result was popsitive, It should have no problem to take exams. Since you can take the exams, then of course, you can apply NJ CPA license. The records will be passed to NJ State. No need to send NJ state the ECE records.

2. The work requirement for NJ is one year experience in accounting or auditing and the experience should be cerified by a CPA in the company your work.

3. The website of NJ State Board of Accountancy has all forms you need. Just go to the website, and click "applications".

http://www.state.nj.us/oag/ca/accountancy/acct_applications. htm

You may want to read the "regulations and laws" too.

I was allowed to take all 4 parts which I have passed.

Now NASBA tells me I have to take a class in Cost/Management Accounting. According to them even though I meet the 150 semester hours requirement, I don't have enough in Cost/Management Accounting.

Has anyone come across something like this?

I found two classes at the communtiy college...Principles of Managerial Accounting and Advanced Managerial Accounting. Which one would be more appropriate?
