Hey,
Yes, the Yaeger course does use the Wiley text and they assign specific problems for each of their modules covered. So, there sections of the Wiley book not covered at all. I concentrated mainly on what was assigned and covered in the lectures, maybe to my detriment. I guess what I meant to say was probably the content on the exam I wasn't familiar with is in there somewhere lol! No review program can cover everything, but for FAR and BEC, there were only a few questions here and there I had no familiarity with. Now for the REG exam I just took, I felt like maybe 25% I wasn't comfortable with.
It was a difficult test; the first testlet was fine - I feel like I did well on it. The second testlet was MUCH harder, so I don't think I did as well. The third testlet was easier than the second, but still harder than the first. So, if I had to guess my multiple choice testlets were distributed as Medium, Hard, Medium maybe??? I don't know really, the third one is a toss up. The simulations were...well, let's say interesting. I didn't get to finish the second simulation.

ok, so just got home from taking REG. It ended up not being what I expected. There was so much information I spent lots of time studying not on there at all. For those of you using Yaeger, there was a lot of material on the exam not covered at all, so go through the entire Wiley book. I ran out of time on the second simulation. Both of the simulations were time consuming and not straightforward. Not feeling real good about this one. |

No one feels very confident after these exams.
REG is very, very tight on time. You do not have time to go the bathroom. The first thing that I do at the exam is turn my scratch paper upside down and write down my budgeted time for each section and a blank space for my actual time. If I get ahead of schedule, I earn a bathroom break!
Perfection is the enemy of good enough. The purpose of any review program is to get you a passing grade. Dr. Gleim would say that if you made above a 75, you studied too much. However, I do not know how much studying is enough. Additionally, even if you do know the material, you can still mess up because of trick questions.
Put REG behind you. You did your job. Now it is time for the examiners to do their job.

Thanks SO MUCH Jerry for your encouragement. I live about an hour away from the Prometric center closest to me, and I barely remember the drive home I was so upset. I guess I will move forward and begin studying Audit as planned as I can't do anything to change the outcome. Problem is I felt really good about my studying. The things I studied and that appeared on the exam, I feel like I did well on. One of my written communications was on something not covered or mentioned at all, and I didn't have time to research the topic to aid in my writing. The other written communication was fine. The other tabs on the both simulations were hard.
Thanks again, I feel a little better. At least it's over with and it's a holiday weekend coming up. I'll keep you in my thoughts next week for you FAR.

Thanks for the kind words. I am going to need your prayers for FAR! My job is to continue studying over July 4th. Your job is to enjoy yourself over the weekend. You deserve the break.

Deja vu all over again? Sounds soooo much like my date with REG. Nightmare on Prometric Street.
I figured my score would be in the 72 to 76 range. The 90 left me blinking for a week. I captured a screen-shot of it so that I could make it my computer desktop picture.
Here's hoping you'll be able to do the same soon.

<FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size=4>I will soon be taking the FAR exam. I finished all 14 of Yaeger's DVDs! I am now reviewing my notes. FAR is just too much material! I want to pass FAR and never see FAR again. I am looking forward to BEC and AUD which will have less than half of the material of FAR. [/QUOTE]
Hey Jerry,
Good luck with FAR. I know FAR has a lot of material but take it by piecemeal. You can do it!! Remember to watch your time during the actual exam as well and don't get stuck on one particular MC or any parts of the Simulation. You will do well. I have confidence in you!!
Do you have any tips for REG? Thanks in advance.
