Hey everyone. I'm planning on taking REG July 30 and then retaking FAR in October. I've been thru the REG Becker lectures and I've got the Wiley book and Gleim MCQs CD so I think I'm good to go. I'm taking a 4 week unpaid leave of absence from work in July so I can bang this thing out and just have to worry about FAR after that. Good luck to you all in this window!

Hey guys, I started studying REG 2 weeks ago and I'm planning to take it in the middle of August, I feel That REG is going to be my hardest part since I have no tax experience at all.

So as the testing window is about to start I want to wish everybody here (including me)loool good luck in your studies and hope we all pass this section once and for all.

You really do not need any tax experience. If you are studying with Becker, you would do well even if you did not take a tax course in college. But that is IMHO! Goodluck!!

Hey Root, I appreciate your input. Yeah I'm using becker for all sections exclusively.

This is my last section and I just WANT TO PASS loool

So how about you, what sections did you take already?

I'm taking the Exam on July 1.

This whole process has already dragged on on for years now and I just want to finish ASAP. This is my last section and I am basically studying Becker 8 hours a day for 7+ days straight (has been like this for a few days now). My classes have run the entire month and tonight is my last class so I feel like I'm max prepared for this exam.

Having passed the other three actually put's a lot more pressure to pass right away since I won't be focusing on another section right after. I have an ethics exam to do and some paperwork...

Overall I'm somewhat excited. I decided to really focus on my exam after my company shut down in December and have been somewhat lazy in applying for jobs just because I wanted to commit 100% to the exam. I estimate that the opportunity cost was worth about 25k pretax (6 months unemployed) and obviously it does not look good on your resume to be unemployed for periods of time.

I haven't been successful in getting quality CPA firm interviews and am kind of gambling that this license will change that. I'm 24 and have work experience so it's not like I don't fit the profile. It's just been so frustrating to go through this economic crisis and see all the audit jobs go to on campus recruiting.

Hopefully everyone pass with Becker. But it is not everything with tax. I study Becker 08 edition and Wiley 09 edition. I can tell Wiley covers tax topics more comprehensive and clear than becker. Hopefully for you studying becker 09 ed , Tim Gearty improved the material. But good luck. True story: two of my colleague prepared with Becker failed. others successfully passed. just prepare for the hardest and most complex questions on tax. For business law section, I feel Becker has more difficult questions than Wiley.

--------------------

FAR (89) - Becker 90% + Wiley 10%

AUD (91) - Becker 100%

BEC (81) - Wiley 50% + Becker 50%

REG (hopefully--8/8) - Becker 100% + Wiley 100%
