Dear utesa

i used the thick blue book that u mentioned. And i studied for about 5-6 wks, first time. I think u do have enough time, so just be focus and not to worry too much about not having enough time. I work full-time, and I studied 2-3 hours a day on weekday and 15-20 hours on weekend. I also stayed home for about 9 days to cram for the exam, which i studied 12-15 hours A DAY.

Havent used Yaeger/ Willie but i think and hope they are good.

One thing about FAR is that there are a lot of materials, so keep doing HW really helps. Do a couple SIMs from BECKER, and read becker's advice on the writing tab (first 10 pages of the book before the first chapter) -- from my experience, the structure of ur essay is pretty important.

i would say FAR is the most challenging part of the four. U can do it, just commit urself and be confident.

I am sure ur path will be easier and easier as u progress! I wish u the best luck!!

Utesa I believe you will pass.  I took FAR & did horrible in my opinion.  I studied so hard & long. At least you have a new approach.  I have wasted 3 wks in june trying to determine a new approach.  I,too have the blue book.  I'm supplementing with Wiley.  I did have Yaegar cram but didn't make it through it.  I'd like some advice on different approaches as well .  Will take exam on Aug 30. So, help!

I appload your determination to keep moving! Keep it up!  Good Luck

Congratulations to all of you who passed.  I shall join that side someday :) check my new approach and let me know what you think:

I just ordered Yaeger/ Willie book and I plan to studied 3 hrs at day and several hrs on weekend. One month one week to study (third time) now with Yaeger/Wilie book plus CRAM.

Will that be ok time?  What do you think?  DO NOT tell me to go back to my thick blue book please don't :(   doooooooonnn''ttt

I am a Yaeger man, as you know.  However, the Becker book has some neat stuff in it like "CAR IN BIG" for calculating consolidations.  Keep the big blue book handy as you listen to and take notes with Yaeger.

Becker gives an overview at 40,000 feet.  Yaeger and Bob Monette (Bisk) get down to ground level with those pesky multiple choice questions.

Good Luck!

Thanks Jerry, I tell you I was almost crying last night when I called and ordered the material. They shipped today :) ... I am not looking forward to the CAR I BIG or whatever, the CAR I MAG didn't worked very well for me odviously, but perhaps I will get a "combo" becker-yaeger somehow and pass on my third atempt.

CPA Chaser how is the Yaeger CRAM? I heard is good but not good enough alone by itself.  I would recomend you try something new (anything) to add some spice to this nightmare...

Good luck in Aug!

I just realized that every time I apply for FAR in (NH) I pay $354.35 that's a lot of money (I just paid it again!!). It is the most expensive exam in addition to their $140.00 exam fees.

These people are making tons of $$ on us (failures) why make FAR the most expensive?  isn't enough that it is the hardest :(  ..??

....sorry I needed to complain  :/
