Hi Everyone,

I'm about 2 months out from completing my requirements to sit for the CPA exam in Florida; after which I plan to apply to sit for the exam.  I've heard that Florida is slow, but does anyone have any experience with how long it's taking between the submission of the exam application and receiving the NTS?

Also, once you have the NTS in hand, what's the earliest you can schedule to sit in FL?

Thanks as always for your comments!

Well, they received my application during the week of June 10th and I got approved today. So I expect to receive my NTS within the next 2 weeks. I am absolutely floored that it only took less than 4 weeks to process my app. It could be because I sent in my transcripts with my application or it could be because I was in the system already for Department of Business & Professional Regulation. I received my real estate license through them plus I have a few other licenses through the State of Florida.

Hi Megnzay, I am FL candidate as well. I sent the application in June. Now the application status shows 'Approved'. So impressed. Their efficiency has been greatly improved.
My question here is: whether the State issued any formal notification to confirm our eligibility? Or we can simply rely on the application status updated online? Also, the Bulletin says to follow the instruction of payment vouchers issued by NASBA. Did you receive such things? Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with us.

DBPR is going to mail your notice to schedule so you have to wait on that in order to schedule your exam. When you receive that, then you know Florida sent your application status to NASBA.

Thanks cflas08. I thought NTS was distributed by NASBA, not DBPR. I read that your application was approved in July 7. Do you receive Notice to Schedule yet?

Actually, DBPR sends you an approval letter with the information as to who to call to schedule your exam. That's why I called it a notice to schedule. You can't schedule or pay for anything until you get an approval from DBPR.

I received my approval letter from DBPR about a week after I was approved. I haven't scheduled my exam yet though.
