My experience :-

I did my final review and then took the both exams one by one on each of the 2 days before the exam....

It surely washed me out as sitting for 4 hrs straight is not a simple task.... I realized that if you have done your review well, you would find the final exams long but not so tough.... It's a good way to get used to the real exam environment.

On the real exam, you never know that you can face similar environment  - but make sure you do try to finish all 5 testlets in final exams in 4 hrs... This way, you would be more or less prepared for the worst in real exam....

Good Luck!

Thank you so much accountant and divya!

Actually I have tried and managed to finish all testlests within the time frame of 4 hours :)

However, I have found some questions in Becker to be way out of "reality". For example questions in relation to business licenses, split interests agreements, some other weird questions on Governmental, earthquakes that are not extraordinary for a business even if unusual and infrequent, warehouse-storage costs that don't get capitalized in inventory....I mean, I don't think that these questions really test someone's knowledge on accounting and reporting, but again this is only my opinion. Anyway, I stop complaining and I go back to MCQ's.

This is my personal experience that wiley simulations are closer or at-least comparable to exam, which is what we need, i think..with me it happens that if i do a lot of tough problems (yeah, i know it makes you prepare for the worst) but when it comes to exam and if there is a real simple problem i think to myself...no no no, it cant be..there is some trap or trick in it. Additionally, easier Q's makes me nervous as well. thats just me.

Oh Jams, I think the same for an easy question! I can stare it for many minutes thinking that there must be a trap. And sometimes there are questions with distractors (totally irrelevant items or unnecessary repetitions) that make you think that you surely missed something in the theory...I don't know if I want to laugh or cry at my situation...I though that FAR wouldn't be so hard because I like studying accounting (nerd!..) but I have changed my mind now. FAR is a killer..(sad to admit)

Is anyone else having trouble with the Supplemental Questions for Chapter 8 and 9 in Becker?

I didn't struggle too much with the homework questions for each of the individual topics but I am having a really hard time with the supplemental ones.  The ones that give the the hardest time are the really long questions with multiple answers involving calculations.  There weren't very many calculations in the regular questions.  My past experience is that the majority of the supplemental questions are not representative of the questions on the actual exam due to their length but I haven't taken FAR before so I don't want to not work them and end up falling short on the exam.

Any thoughts?
