Both communications tabs were OK to good.  When in doubt, keep writing and aim for overkill.  I also think I got both research tabs.

One of my REG simulations was on a topic which I had read intently several times, but obviously hadn't spent enough time learning.  I tried my darndest to remember and answer intelligently, but if I'd been asked to put a money wager down on it I would have used the "minimum bet" option.

The other REG simulation was really a wild fly ball into left field, as far as I was concerned.  I understood what the question asked and thought I identified the essential elements from the situation tab, but I had no idea what to do with them.  Lots of guessing on that one.  I might have gotten a few answers right, but I wouldn't have put a money wager on any of them.  I've always hated questions where one of the options is "none of the above - this space intentionally left blank."

After I was done, since it was truly my 4th exam, I spent the next few weeks examining/choosing other review courses and learning the material I had struggled with.  I figured my likely score was somewhere between 72 and 78.  Apparently, I underestimated.

Hi Nan,

your posts are always very informative and useful. may i ask if you followed Becker alone or supplemented with any other material for mcqs?
im having hard time memorizing all the details. any suggestion on that part also would be great.

Thanks!

Hi, Bala,

Becker - Self-Study CDs, Flashcards, Final Review programs, and I cancelled the rest of my life except for my job (I needed the electricity to stay on).  The only thing I supplemented with before taking the actual exams myself was the AICPA released questions from the previous and current years.  However, had I failed any section, I would probably have used a different provider to rehash the failed section.

Work all the MCQs, including the supplemental MCQs.  Keep doing them until you understand WHY things work the way they do.  If you find that you're just jumping straight to the MCQ answers because you're memorizing the questions, SLOW DOWN and read all the explanations until you understand WHY the wrong answers are wrong.

MEMORIZE the acronyms and KNOW what the letters mean.  Test yourself writing them out repeatedly.  On Prometric day you're going to get questions which you will answer correctly because you write the acronym on the blue Prometric paper, write the key words next to those letters, then look up at the screen and select the correct answer.

Be intimately familiar with everything else.
