I'm in Shreveport so I didn't get to take one of Dr. Sumners classes.
I am wondering - do you think a CPA license would make a CIA designation redundant?
I'll need to find out more about getting the work experience completed for the CFE designation before I take the test. If there is a deadline to complete the work experience I need to plan around that.
I'm currently the comptroller for the Chapter 13 bankruptcy trustee. I know a great deal about managing the confirmed bankruptcy cases but my duties don't involve examining them for fraud indicators. I'll have to check out the casinos when the trustee retires. To tell you the truth I applied unsuccessfully for an entry-level casino accounting job about 10 years ago, and I hadn't thought about working for the casinos in a long time.
At this point all options are open. One of them I was considering was the fraud division in a Big4 firm; I know KPMG has some of those offices in Texas, and they travel all over the country doing investigations. Another option was to look for an opening to work on Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. Beyond that I was thinking about exploring openings listed through the ACFE.
