I used Yaeger for FAR.  I did only the assigned problems in the Wiley text, however, did all the questions in the Wiley 14.0 software for each module.  After I finished the assigned problems, I was debating between continuing with the remaining ones in the text or the software.  Chose the software, overriding factor was that I was sick of the great big green book lol.  If you have the 14.0 software, the questions are fairly analagous to the ones in the text, maybe even a little more encompassing.

Please don't doubt your abilities to pass the exam!  You can do it, it's just a matter of putting in the time and everybody is different with regard to the amount of time needed.

Now as far as how your scores translate to the actual exam... I would shoot for a higher percentage correct before you sit for the exam.  It is perfectly normal to get these percentages in the beginning; study the answers to ones you got wrong and try to understand the concepts behind them.  Then give the questions another shot and keep reviewing your notes on the main concepts to keep everything in your memory bank.  I sat for the exam when I was getting anywhere from 75% - 90% correct on the modules - mostly 80% range.  Good luck to you!

Did you like the functionality of the Wiley CD 14.0? Can you query random questions for each module or the entire module? Can you do query by question from the book only off the CD which you couldn’t do with version 13.0

Also, can you do research while you do the simulation, which you couldn’t do with version 13.0

I haven't seen version 13.0 to compare, but as far as 14.0, there is a research function.  I like the content of the questions and the convenience of doing the questions on the computer and your percentage correct calculated, etc.  The 14.0 software, while a great learning tool, is a little glitchy.  I could never get it to run on Windows Vista, now having said that, I did read where other people have called tech support and got it to work with Vista.  I have an older computer upstairs with XP and it runs fine on that, so I didn't mess with getting it work with Vista.  The note function where you can add comments to certain questions to aid in your studying does not work - at least with what I was sent.  If you type anything in the note field and subsequently hit the arrow to go to the next question you get the dreaded Wiley 14.0 failing to respond and must close blah blah.  Kept happening everytime I opendd the file, so I had to reinstall the software, which was a pain because I had a cumulative file going with all my modules and I lost it obviously.  I placed my order for the Yaeger homestudy before the software was available, so it was sent to me at a later date.  So maybe there have been some updates to fix some of the problems with 14.0 as I think I received the original release.  The simulations are good as far as content and format - similar to what you see on the exam.  Some problems with the results function with sims - you have to enter numbers in exact format or it thinks it is wrong; for example, you have to enter 10,000, not 10000.  On the actual exam, your numbers are reformatted.  The query function as far as selecting questions is limited, probably the same as 13.0.

So overall, I like it, but it is a little glitchy.  Sorry for the ramble, but I've been working Auditing problems all day AFTER losing my file yesterday and this is a nice diversion lol.

oh and the text link functionality is wonderful...not sure if this was in 13.0

Thanks for the nice overview. Good luck with the audit. One other question, I am getting interested in Yaeger/Wiley. Don't think Gleim is going to do it for me this time (failed with 73).

How do you like the overall Yaeger/Wiley program ? I am interested in there Instructor hotline if I have a question. Gleim takes couple of days to get back to you. How about Yaeger ? Are they responsive if you have question ?

I think it's great...I passed FAR and BEC the first time and I finished my accounting degree a long time ago.  I haven't had to call the instructor hotline a lot because I always give myself two or three times on something before I call; helps in the learning process but probably not very efficient lol.  All kidding aside, I have called them a few times and have always gotten Phil right when I've called, so I think they are very responsive.  I've had a lot of personal stuff going on this past year which my have had a negative impact on my recent REG experience and Phil spent a long time on the phone with me just going over my exam experience and listening to me vent.   I do feel they sincerely care about their students.  Let's see, I prepped with Yaeger about 8 weeks for FAR (took 5/1/09) and then prepped with Yaeger about 4 weeks for BEC (5/30/09).  As far as REG with Yaeger, I felt ok about it except for the sims; they were both very long, complicated, and not straightforward.  But in all fairness to Yaeger, irrespective of the review program utilized, everyone is saying the same thing about REG this testing window, so we'll see...
