yeah if u r planning to write in the next window (Apr/May 2010), u may need 2010 materials. U should wait for the updated book from Becker then. Check with them as to when they would be out..... I would do this if i were in your position.

I had read somewhere that the testing year for new versions technically starts July 1....whether that's true or not I'm not sure.  I had 2008 materials for FAR & AUD which I took before July 1, 2009, and I had 2009 materials for REG & BEC, which I took after July 1.  So, in theory, if you have 2009 materials, they should be "good" through July 1, 2010.

In my opinion you really don't need to worry so much about whether you have the 2009 or 2010 version for exams occurring in the first (or second) quarter of 2010.  Just go to the becker site for any updates to the materials. They're usually so minimal that it's not worth buying "updated" materials.  The updated material is just a newer version of your 2009  book printed with the items that are on the update site with the year 2010 on it.  That is surely not worth spending hundreds of dollars.  If there are software updates you'll be able to download them from the Becker site as well.  Keep your money and just check the Becker site.  Studying for the exam is stressful enough and this is not something worth stressing over.
