If you try to get a Master's do it from a respectable university. I went to a smaller undergrad school in 07 (when there were plenty of jobs) and only managed to get a job after 6 months of looking. Now, I go to a top 10 MAcc program and all firms are represented in our career fairs.
I think firms try to hire from big universities to maintain a connection since they've been letting a lot of people go too. If you are not in school the competition is even tougher.
I've been told that there is such a thing as being too overqualified for an entry level position as well.

If you've already graduated undergrad, go back to grad. school for a Masters. Even if you take a couple classes a semester, you'll get more exposure to Big 4.
I can do that but I have a crappy GPA. I would have to score a really good GMAT unless they take into consideration that I can pay cash and hopefully I pass the CPA's. I dont care about the big 4 anymore I just want to work.
some Master's programs will waive the GMAT requirement if you've passed all 4 sections of the CPA.
