Also, is there really 30% of IT on the exam?????

If so, thats scary.

25% of BEC for a three credit IT course in college.  IT was an elective in college and I elected not to take it!  We all had better learn IT very well in order to pass BEC.

I am a former IT person and casualty of the dot com crash who involuntarily retired and switched to tax, and while I am pretty familiar with a lot of the IT covered in the review materials, there are still a lot of terms that I also don't know.

It's not quite that much, I think around 25%.  I think content specifications per AICPA give a range around 25%, so could slightly more or less.

Yes, you do have to know the IT material to pass BEC, but it is very doable.  Again, it is the luck of the draw, but some of the questions were ridiculously easy and others were challenging.   So I think if you study this section well, you can hopefully get all the easy ones right and enough of the harder ones correct to get enough points to pass.  It's not THAT bad.
